Catfish River Monster

I wish I had the original reference image saved.

This was a multi-step kinda model. I commissioned a user called 'MechaGodzilla2009' to sculpt me a low poly mesh, unrigged, unUV'd based on the singular image I sent him. I reached out to the original artist of the image I don't have for additional angles, but never got a response back. From there I took the 'Provided Mesh' and created a High Poly version in Zbrush, adding all the details I needed. ZRemesher for whatever reason refused to cooperate so I had to retopologize manually in Blender. This part sucked. Blender wasn't happy about my multi million polygon HD mesh being inside the viewport.

After the mesh was Retopologized, and the normals baked (in Blender too), I noticed some meshes missing MG2009 didn't create and either edited those in, or made them, such as the Eyepupils, secondary row of teeth, throat and tooth gums. Once that was done, everything was rigged up and shipped over to Substance Painter for texturing, my favorite part!

After everything was all finalized, the model kinda sat in my archive where I occasionally messed around more with it, such as making an Emission set, and a basic walk.

Later on I had a friend offer to 3d print the mesh itself posed. First try, not bad!

This model is Production Ready, It is fully Rigged, full PBR textures, and Optimized Mesh and Topology.
Credit to MG2009 for the original provided low poly. The HP and new LP were created by me.
