The BT-SV / BT-SW-2 was a 1937 attempt of modernizing the USSR BT (Fast tank) series of vehicle. Its origins are somewhat disputed due to missing documents, but it is confirmed it was created in the Kharkov industrial military complex. Two prototypes were created with a variety of tests and trials applied to each, before the project was cancelled in late 1938 /1939. The full production variants was to include thicker sloped armor, from 25-45mm. It is disputed as to if the BT-SV development led engineers to apply what they learned to the T-34 tank, or if they were being developed at the same time. The similarities between the BT-SV and the Prototype A-20 / A-32 tanks are noticeable.
This is my rendition of the BT-SV tank. Something to show the wear, grit and extras as if it was a tank in service. It is one of my favorite 'odd' tanks of the Second World War on the Soviet side. I nicknamed it the Mosquito due to the night time spotlights mounted on top of the 45mm cannon, which was a common addition on BT tanks and T-26 tanks.
The BT-SV tank has an appearance in the game World of Tanks.
This model is Production Ready. It is rigged, full PBR textures, and features a basic interior.
